PROJECT DETAILS

The Custom House project involved the transformation of a Grade A listed landmark on Glasgow’s iconic waterfront into a vibrant mixed-use development. The redevelopment delivers a 303-bed four-star Clayton Hotel alongside a 162-bed Adagio Aparthotel, bringing new life to one of the city’s most historic locations.

The restored Custom House building now serves as the main entrance to the Clayton Hotel, housing elegant public spaces including the lobby, bar, conference, and meeting facilities. A three-storey glazed atrium link seamlessly connects the listed structure to a 16-storey modern extension, creating a striking architectural contrast between heritage and contemporary design.

Location

To the east of the site stands the 13-storey Adagio Aparthotel, which features ground-floor bars and restaurants, adding activity and vibrancy to the riverfront.

Located on Clyde Street, overlooking the River Clyde and just minutes from Glasgow’s City Centre and Buchanan Street, this redevelopment celebrates the city’s architectural heritage while delivering a modern destination for hospitality, leisure, and business visitors alike.
